Hi I’m Franny and I’ve lived with my family near Kingsbridge in the beautiful South Hams since 2004. We moved here from Yorkshire for our girls to grow up somewhere amazing.
I qualified as a registered general nurse in 1991 and have always loved my work, but all those years of bending and lifting took its toll on my posture and I started to become more limited by generalised aches and pains. A physio friend suggested I try Pilates and it transformed my life. I’ve never looked back.
My core strength and posture improved quickly and within weeks I felt ‘normal’ again. It was fantastic to learn how to be more aware of alignment and movement. Through regular practice my shape has visibly changed, I’ve become leaner and my posture is much better. I’m stronger, more flexible and above all, more confident and happy.
My experience of the benefits of Pilates motivated me to learn how to help others and I’m now a Level 3 matwork and Reformer for Beginners Pilates teacher. I trained with Body Control Pilates and Lisa Bradshaw.
I’m also additionally qualified to teach:
- Pre and Postnatal Pilates
- Pilates for Golfers
- Pilates for the Older Person
- Pilates for Bone Health (osteoporosis/osteopoenia)
- Various small equipment eg foam roller, resistance band, small ball, toning circle
- HIP Pilates (cardio vascular workout using Pilates principles which is great for increasing functional strength and balance)
This list will continue to grow as I’m committed to CPD, always asking questions and learning so I can support you with up-to-date knowledge and skills. I adhere to a strict code of professional practice and am a member of the Body Control Pilates Association (BCPA).
Ultimately I want to help you understand and feel what good movement is, so that in your day to day life you’re equipped with the awareness, knowledge and skills to be able to move well, limit your risk of injury and above all feel brilliant.
